I grew up in New Jersey, on the east coast of the U.S. After studying Russian in college and visiting Russia several times, I decided that I'd like to continue living overseas and working with kids in some capacity. In the past I’ve worked with children and youth in a variety of positions, including at a German nursery school, as a summer camp counselor, and as an English tutor for Russian students. I enjoy working with young people and love the perspectives that they bring to our interactions.
Children’s language acquisition, especially foreign language acquisition, fascinates me, and I look forward to helping ENS students discover the new worlds and cultures that learning another language offers. Living in Germany and Russia as well as travelling to other places in and near those countries has given me my own experiences of getting to know other cultures and ways of life, and it has also helped me develop skills needed to communicate with and work with people from all different cultural backgrounds.
In addition to teaching, I like to spend time outdoors, play the flute, travel, and learn new languages. I believe that learning is a never-ending process, no matter our age.
