Year 1, Teacher
I was born in Shropshire (the middle of England) and grew up on a family-run dairy farm. During Primary and Secondary school, I was constantly challenged academically and in extra-curricular activities. Alongside this, I assisted at a Cub Scout Pack and coached different sports, which instilled a real passion for working with children.
Before university, I spent a year assisting in a Special School in England. This experience enabled me to watch different teachers and see how they adapted the curriculum to meet the needs of every child. This inspired me and is where my passion for teaching really started to grow.
During university, I helped set up a charity which provides rest bite care for vulnerable children around Birmingham to build their confidence and aspirations. This is something I am very passionate about, and I strive to build this ethos of developing confidence within the classroom.
I enjoy responsibility and new challenges, approaching them with energy and enthusiasm. I graduated with a First Class Honors degree in Primary Education, showing my determination and commitment to education. In addition to this, I have a passion for teaching in countries with different cultures, having taught in Cambodia and assisting in Finland.
